Lunchtime Lecture: Heidi Younger

Born an artist, Heidi trained to work commercially and has been a freelance Illustrator for the past 25 years. She received a BFA in Graphic Design from School of Visual Arts in NYC and an MA in Illustration from Fashion Institute of Technology, where she has been an Adjunct Professor for the last 10 years.  While working as a freelance Illustrator, Heidi has had the opportunity to work on many interesting project ranging from creating illustrations for institutions like the City of San Jose CA and for CAHS (Connecticut Association for Human Services), Madison Square Garden, as well as for Stony Brook University HSC, Middle Country Library, Symatec, Unilever, Colgate, Nestlé and many newspapers and magazines such as The New York Times, Wall St Journal, etc. One time she found herself on the stage of Radio City Music Hall during its renovation, collecting reference. Heidi’s Graphic Design background gave her the ability to compose and deconstruct an idea or concept.

 Heidi’s illustrations have been recognized by Communication Arts Magazine, Society of Illustrators NYC, Society of Illustrators West, 3x3, Creative Quarterly, she also received an award from Brookhaven Woman Services in Visual Art.
