DON’T SUCK—Illustration Thinking, Entrepreneurship and 25 years of image-making
How does intent and the values inherent in art school training intersect and at times conflict in a symbiotic relationship within the diverse Marketplace of Illustration? George Bates will discuss these topics through the lens of Illustrating for 25 years. This talk will feature highlights from a diverse and varied career both within and on the fringes of what modern Illustration is, and can be. Bates’s client list includes; Comedy Central, ESPN, MTV, The New York Times, Nick-At Nite, Sony Music, The Wall Street Journal, among many others, and two permanent installations of Public Art for the NYC Metropolitan Transportation Authority subway system.
