"I’ve always had to draw, to make, to create: my soul requires it and my sanity is grateful for it” Ciara O'Keeffe graduated in 1999 from Limerick School of Art and Design, Ireland with a B.A. in Ceramic Design. She established a studio practice in County Kildare, creating one-off ceramic sculptures, using the quality of clay to capture mood and sensitivity. She has completed numerous commissions both in the private and public sector, and has exhibited her work extensively throughout Ireland and England. Working mainly on small scale ceramics, she uses oxides and stains to modulate the surface. Her work chases the ghosts that remain in the built environment when the dwellers have moved on.
