Kristen Balouch is a Brooklyn designer and illustrator. She writes and illustrates children’s books and designs any surface or medium. Her designs have appeared on a range of objects, surfaces and publications from murals to fabric collections, gardens to interiors, furniture to handmade toys and boxes. She graduated Pratt Institute with BFA in Computer Graphics in 1991. She became one of the first or the first illustrator to use digital illustrations in a children’s book in 1999. She has taught at Pratt institute, designed in marketing at Random House, and currently runs Little Blue Mushroom surface design studio. She lives in Williamsburg Brooklyn.
